Can you buy devices that prevent fireworks etc put thorugh your letterbox? I remember some kids doing it to my neighbour last year and basically drove him out.
This was all done whilst parents watching. Now he's gone I dont want to become their next "project".

i very much doubt that theres a specific product to prevent fireworks being put throughh the letter box, doubt it would be a best seller.

why not just screw a timber batten across the back of it.

Exactly, what I cant understand is that parents allow their kids to behave in such a manner. My neighbour was a wreck when he left.

There is a device that allows petrol poured through the letterbox or similar to re emerge at your arsonists feet.

I'd recommend a cheap cctv system, arson endangers life and is basically attempted murder. Thats why it can carry a life sentance.

I fill up the back of my letter-box with scrunched-up newspaper every Hallowe'en, which prevents it being opened fairly effectively. Should probably work with fireworks too - though don't forget how terrible and tragic a loss to society it would be if it caused the little misunderstood darlings to catch fire rather than your house...

My family used to suffer from this kind of beheviour every Oct/Nov - even when there was ababy in its pram in the hall near the letterbox they still did it. We had a basket thing attached to the door which stopped letters falling onto floor - that did stop the fireworks landing on the carpet and setting it alight. It seems to me that once a 'target' has been selected by these morons then it's open season and the parents condone it. I hate fireworks and Bonfire Night and think it's high time that they were not on sale until 2 days before Nov 5 and not at all afterwards. And all these dodgy temp firework shops should be shut down.
