Uh? the last two programmes have finished off at a hundred mph leaving more questions than answers. I reckon they thought they'd sell up in Maidenhead and buy a mansion in the Welsh borders then realised 600k just gets you a decent house. The final offer sounds like something they knew would be rejected but gave the programme makers an ending of sorts. Did the missus talk him round?
(long term members of the Forum will know what I mean!)
Silly program really.... was it not? There was no chance She was going to commute nearly 3 hours from Thiefrow to the Hills! Mind you, my Daughter used to come off a long haul working flight and then jump an aircraft and commute to Denver, Colorado 3 or 4 times a Month. That's love for you! I couldn't see how the Bloke was going to run a business and make it pay? Probably right, another case of everything West of the Chiswick flyover is sooo much cheaper and we should be able to buy a Mansion for our £450 Grand. Mel.
This was one of those really frustrating episodes. I was astonished that he was expecting her to move to the middle of nowhere like that, and since she was obviously so reluctant to do so, I wasn't surprised when they didn't find anything that was 'right'. Or at least, I think they didn't. Hard to say what the conclusion was really; one minute P&K are chatting and the next there are camels leaping all over the screen. A little closure would have helped!
Didn't there used to be a voice-over with K&P telling us people were still looking, sold up or changed their minds. The camel shot made me think they'd joined the circus for a mo. Given that the producers make the search into a narrative with heros and villains I think we were short changed one ending.
I think this was the worst episode ever. I felt no empathy towards the couple as I could just feel that they were not serious buyers. I think a move to Wales would have caused a divorce and the bloke started to sense that towards the end.
I echo the view that they thought their money would make them Lord and Lady of the Manor in Wales but realised that as nice a house as they could buy, it wasn't so great as to be worthwhile moving.
They had a lovely looking place in Maidenhead so quite what was in it for her I have no idea. I also thought that it was pretty poor that the programme just ended, not even an update to say that they were still looking or had split up or anything!
I think they just made the offer to keep the programme makers happy. I mean, if the offer had been accepted, which anybody could have told them it wouldn't, I think they would have pulled out anyway.
At the beginning it said they had sold their house for £600k odd. I think that was the amount!!
Anyways, a complete no brainer, right from the start you could see they were uninterested. Almost like they had told the programme makers what they wanted to do, and by the time K&P turned up, they had already changed their mind, but thought they had better go along with it.
Quite what he planned to do with his course attendees on that flat land is intriguing! I hope my company don't book me in for one of them team building courses, if they sent me to a field in Wales I would tell em where to stick their job. It's free to get into Wales, they lure you in, and then when you want to leave, they stick you with a charge, knowing that you have to pay to get out!
State of Play - wrong way round they actually charge you to get into Wales (now £4.90) but let you leave for free. Luckily I have just escaped from Wales after living there for two years. Disclaimer - I like the Welsh but Wales was too far away from "home"
