I was wondering if there was anybody one here who is buying or bought a propery from Haigh and Haigh. Myself and my boyfriend bought a flat from them in May, its not fully built and has been like this for i think over a year. Well all their numbers are working and their website has been suspended then we saw this article http://iccheshireonline.icnetwork.co.uk/crewechronicle/...50020-name_page.html
We contacted our solicitors straight away and they are trying to speak to Haigh and Haigh Solicitors.
This thread is for anyone who has bought a property from them, who can't get hold of them or has been in the same boat of developers gone bust

Hi,

I have put a deposit on one of these flats in Crewe. I have been down there and spoken to the gaffer of the new?? Contractors. He said the £500 deposit has gone?? And i wont be getting my £250 cash back each month for two years either. All other incentives like kitchens and bathrooms will be kept to (he thinks)!

Have you heard anything else?

Rob

for information of all, haigh & haigh were funded by a securities group who had a joint venture company set up with David Haigh. This company in turn funded haigh & haigh property parteners to construct the various projects.
In November Haigh & Haigh property partners issued a statement suggesting insolvency on a voluntary basis however this did not happen & they continued to make payment to selective suppliers after that date. I believe they have now been wound up in the high courts but cannot confirm it.

With regard to what happens next, Wolsey (the funder) who have a vested interest in completing the projects intend to appoint a contractor to project manage the projects to completion & complete the sales of all properties.

Not sure if it is of use but i would suggest talking to Wolsey who are probably the legal owners of all projects by default?

I spoke to the guy at Wolsey on Friday, he has informed me that they wont be starting work on our development for another 3 weeks and they are wanting to get the whole thing completed by August 2008. He said that we should get an incentives promised back and any extras to send to send the receipts/proof to your solicitors asap so when the time comes for it to be done they can carry on. Having to get another mortgage offer in April, will be the 3rd one.
Has anyone else heard anything?

We have bought also on this site & we are now concerned as one of the owners of a flat below us has had his de-valued by his lender! We keep being told that it will be April they complete but I can't see how that can be, the last time I got on site there was only 1 guy working! And he was doing the bathroom tiling, which we had been told by the site last November this had all been done and they only had the doors to hang!! When I got in & saw ours in Feb the kitchen was in and the walls were plastered & NOTHING else. Looks like we were all lied to................
