When did they stop putting asbestos into artex as we are buying a house that was built in 1988. On the survey he said we should get it checked before doing work on the ceilings. We were going to get them skimmed and are worried that the plasterer will have to knock the tops off the artex. Any help appreciated.

Wouldn't worry about it, a good plasterer can 2 skim coat over any artex ceiling.

Thanks Melboy was a bit worried about it. Err I don't have an asbestos garage though!
