I have just had mt offer for a house accepted after it went to a closing date. I am so excited and will be very poor for a while. In order to make full use of having a garden in the 1st time in years, I thoughtit would be nice to treat my husband and I to a gas barbeque before the reality of what we have to fork out each month really kicks in.
Any tips on what to look out for? I have a budget of £300.00 and looking forward to a fab summer.
Hello SPAM .Congratulations , you must be over the moon. I havent personally got a BBQ , but daughter has, and she sat down and thought through available space, and then in her mind went through the motions of 'doing' a BBQ meal of the sort shed be using it mostly for and where you would want to place things as you prepare, cooked and kept warm . That way you can imagine which side youd want working surfaces, under or above, (or all) Good luck. (Maybe also check out ciao site once youve narrowed your field down, or the Which reports.
We had a gas BBQ when we lived in Italy. This was ideal for the balcony on our apartment but, some how or other, the meat didn't seem to taste "right" ever. I much prefer the charcoal ones for BBQing in a garden.

Thanks for the tips & advice Cypriana & Percy Vere. I've heard a few people talk about the food not tasting quite as 'chargrilled' as a reqular barbeque.
i lived in south korea for 4 years where barbecued food was as common as colds. I agree about the comment of food not tasting the same. Better food is made with charcoal or if you want some sort of showpiece, look up getting a clay tandoor oven made. That cooks a mean piece of meat as well. Gas just doesn't cut it.
Thanks for that IV1369. Definately not looking for a show piece, but I guess an instant BBQ - My aussie friends swear by them. But then I think back to my travelling days in asia and can smell the satay sizzling on the BBQ - hmmmmm.
