Have just found an interesting website. Remember the Richmond PL episode with Joanna & Brian? (They put the Japanese Bath in their bathroom, moved the stairs, etc)
This website is from the builders who did the work, with a cool animation of everthing that was done. Anyone know if it's still for sale?
Incidentally, have also found this website which has lots of info about a new Beeny show - bound to impress all he internet fanboys!!
Excellent idea for a programme to concentrate on community and not simply property; houses are for living in! We have increasing private affluence amidst public squalor, and this seems to be getting worse over time as people retreat into their own private spaces (and watch TV). We need to get to grips with our public spaces and develop a sense of communal responsibility for them. Does this mean that the amateur property development shows are on the way out? Do I detect a note of increased cynicism on the Forum about the greed and incompetence of wannabe property developers - or rather the programme makers? Good luck to La Beeny and I look forward to seeing the results. The Great Society was not bought off the shelf at B&Q.
Its nice to see SB taking on a programme with a much needed and useful message and one that will utilize her most valuable assets. (her brains, tact and commonsense I am naturally referring to!)
According to nethouseprices the last time the property (55, Princes Road according to the builders website) sold was on the 13th June 2003 for £304,000.
I'm assuming that they're living there then, hopefully so - perhaps they've finally realised how impractical a bathroom with two doors and a mini bath is!
