Congratulations! How long was your flat on the market before you received the offer? We've just put our flat up for sale and I can't tell you how I'll feel when we finally sell it!

We put our house on the market in August 2004, had no interest for ages, decided to change agents, had a little bit of interest from them but not much, went with another agent and he sold it within 2 days of it being on the market.

Oh cazzabob! Congrats! Once you exchange then you know it's going to happen. It took a year to sell my flat and I finally moved on 18/3/2005 - was I glad! It really takes it out of you doesn't it? And it went to a BTL not a FTB as the first EA had insisted it would. Hope the move goes OK.

I think I remember now - was this the buyer who didn't want a survey? Did he say why he didn't want one?

We accpeted an offer in January and - hopefully, please GOD- are completing on 11th April. And this is for what has been called a 'straightforward' sale. I cannot believe how long it all takes!. Our house went on sale in June 2004 and like the poster, we had two previous sales fall through. If all these house-price crash gloaters realised the sheer stress and agony peoploe go through, would they really be so gleeful about the market slowing down?

Hi tina48
Yes our buyer didn't have a survey done as he was paying cash and therefore didn't require a survey for mortgage purposes. He has also paid a 10% deposit on our property.
