Just being nosey and looking at Loudwater in Rickmansworth, I used to live near there and look enviously through the barbed wire fences that seperated our estates. OK, so there was 5 miles of 'no mans land' in between!
The cheapest house/flat for sale is £550k. That is a two bed flat.
This isn't London, this is Hertfordshire, so I cannot believe the prices!
£550k! I think that significantly more than the most expensive apartment where I live!
Cheapest property is thisstudio flat in a rather ugly looking block, which I think is still too expensive at £74,950. Unsurprisingly its been on the market for some time. (There is also a garage on the market at £19,950).
Of course, London is not *the* most exepnsive place to live. Places like Surrey have higher average prices.
In part, this is because there is a higher proportion of smaller properties.
But I live in a nice and relatively inexpensive area of south London and terraces and semis are £300k or less - far far less than what you quote here .
