Wanting to get quotes for a new sink and new worktops (2 x 3m, 2 x 0.5 m). A couple of (maybe daft) questions - would a joiner normally be able to fit the sink as well as fit the worktops? And would it normally be expected that the joiner would supply the worktops, or would I be expected to buy them (which makes things tricky with no access to car/van.)
Sorry for the daft questions, just trying to get my head round this.
Hi beecher, I'm in the lead-up to having a new kitchen fitted. My joiner is fitting the worktops and cabinets, but my plumber will be needed for sink and taps. Some joiners might be happy doing a bit of simple plumbing (a general builder certainly would) but I wouldn't assume it.
Joiner is supplying the worktops - but only because they are wood that he is sourcing. If we wanted some other surface we would have to get it ourselves - you will probably find a supplier will deliver to you.
Hi velvet - hopefully I'll find someone happy to go to Howdens for me, as that's the only place I can find 28mm deep beech laminate worktops. Found a plumber/tiler/joiner in the paper so that should cover it all
What you start off thinking of as a small job (new sink) always seems to turn into a much larger one, doesn't it?!
