I thought the whole place was horrible. Even after it had been made over it was depressing. It looked like the windows needed cleaning. And didn't the woman have the most annoying whiny voice? (Not Naomi, the client's girlfriend)

It would have been lovely if they had left some of the brick exposed.
Certainly wasn't impressed with the bathroom arrangement or that kitchen worktop.

It was still far too open plan, what a waste of space.
Even putting some sort of island unit or breakfast bar in the kitchen would have defined the spaces better.
£650k my backside. Would anyone really pay that much for a 1 BEDROOM FLAT?

was it an improvement on the state of it before? (which I believe was the idea of the show).... then the answer has to be a yes, but if they'd stripped it back to an empty shell it would've been an improvement! ps Naomi get rid of that bloody coat!!!

If that's what you get for £650K you can keep it. That space could have been far better utilised, though having said that at least the programme centres around the current owners and what they need from their living space right now, rather than focussing on resale. Lol, and I'm so glad they decided against that inflatable pod thingy!

I agree considering they spent most of their time in the kitchen, an island or breakfast bar would have made a great focus/centre point for the flat. I think the flat was a little uninspiring because you could see everything at once after you walked through the front door, where as the bathroom was on of the few areas to " discover" later on. I think this is what can let down alot of open plan living spaces. But as queenstomper says - it was done for their tastes and not for re-sale, there was no talk of lets squeeze X more bedrooms in to add £xxxx.

Maybe I'm completely shallow but the only thing I could concentrate on was Naiomi's hair - did no-one on the shoot have a brush??

The programme was a bit rubbish, wasn't it.
The couple were intensely stupid yet own a £650,000 flat, which doesn't seem fair, especially when the "tagging" revealed that they did about an hour's work a day between them in their gloomy shag pad. They had no taste or imagination. He didn't seem to realise that piles of cast-off wood dotted around your house not make create a pleasant domestic atmosphere, or that a kitchen-in-a-cupboard is really a device to save space, which you don't need to do if you live in a vast warehouse conversion (unless, I suppose, you plan to fill it up with piles of junk wood.
The tagging itself was silly gimmick which added nothign to the programme.
I have to say, I much preferred Naomi when she did that series (Other People's Houses?) when they followed through people's big home improvement projects and then she slagged them off for their poor tase. That was funny, and got the best out of her - she's good at the snobby insult is old Naomi. I suppose it's a more socially responsible notion for her to advise people and design something decent for them, but seeing her criticise some train wreck of a design was better telly!

I preferred 1st series of Honey I ruined the house whereas as this one seemed to be a bit longwinded. The bathroom was great but the overall effect at the end didn't seem to work. You did feel that as soon as the camera crew and naomi were gone the clutter would soon move back in. One of the problems with an open-plan loft space is that if you're not careful everything's on view and it just looks a mess. Having spent 12 years in a studio flat with one storage cupboard I know what it feels like - if you don't keep your belongings in an organised manner then you just can't face coming home to it. He was a bit old to be living like he was tho?
