I filled in a little form about finding an EPC person and got the quotes - lowest was £75 i think.
I've just had an email saying that someone is in the area on Tuesday and can do it for £70 if I book it and left his mobile number.

?? Can they con you with these things? or are there any rogue EPC people?

Dead easy HC Don't pay a penny until they come up with the goods! Also they will have some form of Government licence won't they?
