I agree! I don't count myself a particularly tidy person, but I could never let it get to the conditon of some of the ones I see in HCIYH! For some reason after watching I always notice the cobwebs & have to get the long handled broom out!

It sickens me to see these houses in such terrible states! If only people would bother to just clean around after them, it only takes 2 minutes tops to dust around!
Dears if you feel the need to clean around you after you have watched the program you can't be keeping your house in the perfect state in the first place. It would be a joy to see more houses kept in tip top condition, many people seem not to bother nowadays.

Mavis, dear, your talking to a group of very houseproud people on here. I might feel the need to clean after watching the show, because it gets to me. but I keep my home perfect, Its my pride and joy. God knows it cost enough to buy. I could give you a list of people on here with beautiful homes and gardens. We have another forum, where we can post pictures. This forum was set up by another friend on here as it gave us more free speech and topics. And its doing great, a wonderful forum , now one year old. For people who love their homes. Dear.

PS. Sorry, but two minutes dusting wouldn't please me. It just wouldn't be up to my standards.

I know what you mean about getting up and cleaning after the show. It gives me more of a boost to clean the house but sure its clean anyway but I know what you all mean. I just never understand how people can get their house in such states. At times my house can be untidy with me working full time but it is never dirty and I am proud of my home espcially after paying the price for it.

Goodness gracious! I post one comment and it causes such a fuss. I didn't expect to have any replies It is for none of you to mock though the way I choose to clean my house, I've probably been cleaning my own since before any of you people were born. I just won't post next time if its going to cause this. And I thought this was a nice place.

And I thought this was a nice place. you judged us all( when some of us said we feel like cleaning our houses when we watch,HCIYH),and now you think your being mocked?,surely that is like calling the kettle black isn't it?,and what fuss? you posted and then others posted, that's how a forum works doesn't it?,i thought you were going to give up tips as you seem to know what your talking about, but it does look like you have taken it all the wrong way,it is still and always will be a nice friendly place in here,it is also your choice if you don't want to post in here anymore.Happy posting

Mavis read your post again, Not a good choice of words, especially for a new member who doesn't yet know us. And as for cleaning before any of us were born I doubt that as I'm in my 50's. and was at one time housekeeper in a large house in London. I keep a perfect home, bake, knit, and do many things. Yes we are nice, give yourself a chance to get to know us. You'll find a group of lovely people, who love their homes, and help each other in many ways.

Hiya I could use some tips! I just recently got into house cleaning. Just turned 30, and am in my own paid for place for the first time, so it really seemd like home to me now. I never really felt house proud before, as the places I lived in really didn't feel like mine, but this one sure does! So, any tips from anyone who has been cleaning for a long time would help this newly self-appointed house cleaner! And Mavis, I'm new here too, so don't feel alone. Just laugh it off, forget about it, post a good tip, and these nice folks in here will welcome you with open arms, I'm sure.
La De Da! Your house simply shines, darling!
