I'm on the look out for a natural air freshner in some sort. I saw the program today and they had a great advice about placing used tumbledryer sheets (or whatever they are called) behind heaters - to get a scent with the heat. I just don't have a tumble dryer..
I'm very much against the sprays and so you can buy in the supermarket as they are really bad for the environment. So have you got any ideas or trisks??
I use tumble drier sheets in my drawers ,just buy some bounce ones from morrisons on offer buy one get one free at the moment and use those, behind your radiators.
Get some essential oil you like the smell of and dab it on your light bulbs (while they're switched of!) When you turn them on the heat releases the fragrance.
Anytime, you're welcome The essential oil is good as you can change if for the different seasons, a lighter one in summer & a Xmas-y smelling one for winter maybe.
My live in boyf is sensitive to air freshener and furniture polish as it can trigger a migraine so I usally buy those scented packets of powder and leave them on a radiator, wouldn't mind making my own though....
Or you can get those devices to hang on radiators to let water into the room. You could put the oil in the water. OR invest in an oil burner. The sort you put a tealight under and a few drops of oil in the top with water. OR scented candles. OR incense sticks/cones.
Do you have your heating on high Sandy? I have dehumidifiers on 2 or 3 radiators & only fill them up every few weeks - hardly at all in summer but even in winter it's about 10 days before they need more water in them. But of course on weekdays our heating isn't on till gone 10.30pm so that's probabbly why.

WARNING:
anyone using Lavendar oil/Lavendar fragrances and are PREGNANT be careful as lavendar oil can be absorbed by the skin of the pregnant woman, and go into the blood stream and can damage the foetus, so ask your doctor if its ok first for you to use. . .
(i read this somewhere, so just warning those incase)
I think that applies to a lot of essential oils, pregnant women have to be careful using them, but it's a good idea of yours putting a warning on here I'm going to try the vodka spray - Anthea Turner did that one too! - but daren't let my "m-i-l" know, she's be horrifid at putting good vodka to that use!
