I have huge cream curtains that say dry clean only. I was wondering was there an alternative tempted to put them in the washing machine on wool setting (gentle/half spin) but worried they may shrink as they were over £100. thanks

What are they made of, Clubfoot? If they are velvet I definitely wouldn't recommend washing them. If the label specifically says dry clean only, I think you'd be safer going for that, after all you don't want to ruin them, do you?!

CQ forever!

Please dont be tempted to wash them, They may shrink. But having said that, I watched a tv programme reciently on this very subject. Telling us, that most of the time This dry clean only label is a farse and unnecessary.I have washed many things which said dry clean, with and no problems. But expensive curtains I wouldn't take the chance.

You can buy dry cleaning bags so you can DIY it in your own dryer! Smile
