Hello,

I need soem advice.
I saw a mouse in my living room last night. I live in a flat above a restaurant and had presumed that you wouldnt see a mouse on a first floor flat. I havent seen droppings or any other evidence of mice so I'm hoping I don't have an infestation.
I have throughly cleaned my kitchen and made sure that there is nothing for a mouse to eat knocking about my flat.
What can I do?

Thanks

Get some mousetraps down, you can get poison too but that can cause a right stench if the mice crawl somewhere inacessible to die. If you've seen one mouse you will have more - get in touch with your council & ask them to check the restaurant as thet's probably where they're coming from. Mice are very good climbers so they'll have no problems getting to your flat. Good luck duffle, you will probably get rid of them faster than most people because of where you live, hope you do get rid of them. Let us know how you go on.

Thanks for your reply.
I called the landlord and have heard nothing... She owns the restaurant down stairs so it's quite a sensitive issue. I just spoke to one of the chefs who (luckily) seemed shocked at the idea of mice so I imgaine they will take it seriously. If not I will definitely call the council.

I would call the landlord again & tell them that if they don't get a pest control company in asap then you'll go the council & the papers - if the council find evidenc of mice they'll shut the restaurant down which will be bad publicity and will cost her more money Hopefully the chef will get things moving, fingers crossed for you.

You can buy humane traps which catch the mouse then you can release it. Much nicer than decapitating traps or the sticky boards. Frown

You can also buy plus in devices which emit a sound which deter vermin.

Or you could borrow my cat. Santa

I've been plagued by a mouse recently and invested in one of those ultrasonic deterrents. I haven't seen any sign of it recently, but maybe that's got something to do with the fact that I found it curled up asleep in my tray of mealworms, having had a good old tuck-in! I caught it and chucked it over next door's fence, haven't seen it since! Big Grin

CQ forever!

Eww JAD, I'd be more scared of your mealworms! Hope your visitor has done a runner - and hope your neighbour doesn't read your post, lol.
