Can someone please please help?? no matter how clean my dishwasher is i still get grey, gritty, sandy stuff in my glasses. What is it and how do I stop it??

I think it's dirt, you could perhaps try washing them up by hand instead.

hi, have you tried the awful job of cleaning the basket out at the bottom of the dishwasher. I alsways scrape my plates etc, but it still gets lots of bits in.

I also give it a quick rinse sometimes with a couple of capfuls of bleach in.

do you use separate salt, deturgent and rince aid? you should these all in one tablets are no good. check the spay arm jets arnt cloged.

I have cleaned the basket, I do it every couple of days, I use seperate salt etc.. I even use the special cleaning solutions that are especially for dishwashers!! IT'S DRIVING ME MAD!!!

"You can also clean the machine by running it empty with a glassfull of distilled (white) vinegar in the upper rack. At the end of the wash programme it will be left full of water. Examine the remaining water, if there are gritty particales in it the filters or spray arms may be blocked. Check both and run repeated cycles with vinegar to help shift limescale deposits from the water jets, until the remaining water is clear".

you can also buy a dishwasher cleaner thats gets rid of everything in the machine......you need to check if the machine need salt and also use a rinse aid...

Tou could try washing them by hand, no gritty bits then!

I use seperate salt , and fairy liquid dishwasher tabs, excellent, better than the finish dishwasher products. also once a month put it on empty on the highest temperature.

could be limescale, if so the vinegar should do the trick
