there was I in front of the hall mirror...bottle of hair colour in one hand ,comb in the other, hands in those wee disposible gloves they give you..well after i had applied all my medium golden brown(my natural shade) i combed my hair to make sure i had it all covered..well some dripped on the floor and on my arm and some on the pale lemon wallpaper...i runs into the kitcken for a bit of damp kitchen roll and wiped the floor and took the 6 inch splash off the paper.....floor was ok as it is tiled and now I have two lovely brown streaks down the wallpaper ...i cant get it off..tries spray bleach,bleach....wont budge....next time I am off to hair dressers caz last tiem i put a colour on my hair and then went out to hang up the washing the wind blew the clothes onto my hair and I ended up staining several items of clothes ...is grey hair in fashion
Chaddy what were you doing in front of the hall mirror colouring your hair rather than in front of the bathroom mirror! I hope grey hair is in fashion as I haven't coloured mine since April of last year - I just got fed up with doing it (and Mr.J says it's better to be natural)!
Sorry Chaddy, had to laugh at you! Hope you get the stains off the wallpaper. What sort of paper is it? If it's vinyl it will take a bit of scrubbing. Go grey gracefully, has to be easier than messing about with all these lotions & potions.
Oh Jenny don't say that ...I'm just beginning to get used to having some grey hair although I don't like it (I'm not completely grey yet)! It's just that the colouring was making the condition of my hair quite bad and the roots just grew through so quickly which didn't look nice.
my paper is vinal and i have tried a wee gentle scrub ...no good...the hair colour is semi permanent and washes out in 24washes so i might wipe the paper 24 times too
OMG Chaddy! Total nightmare. When I put my colour in and it get on the old t-shirt I use it never comes out. I don't have that worry about getting it on the floor at the minute as I do have any!
It's just that the colouring was making the condition of my hair quite bad and the roots just grew through so quickly which didn't look nice.
I've been using Daniel Field Water Colours for the last couple of years, it's gentler on the hair. Only snag is, you have to wash and dry your hair before applying, and it needs to stay on for about 45 minutes at least in my case!
Jenny I used to use Clairol Loving Care. You don't have to wash and dry your hair just before applying (unless your hair is very dirty). But I used to also have to leave it on for 45 minutes to get full coverage! As a semi-permanent colourant it is supposed to wash out after a few shampoos, but actually doesn't all wash out, so as I was applying it every couple of months or so,I think it was building up on my hair, and causing the condition to get bad.
