The gold ring treatment works too, I had a stye once, my great-aunt rubbed it with her wedding ring & it was gone a couple of days later. Of course it was probably on its way out anyway........... Big GrinI've never had another one since though Wink

That's OK Sandy, no worry. I haven't taken mortal offence or anything, I'm sure Janni would have come up with the same suggestion! Big Grin Glad your stye is better.

Chaddy, what does "craic" mean? I know it's an Irish word, I've seen Shin use it, but it's not in my dictionary and I'm curious! Confused

well it is a word used here in ireland and it has a few meanings..
if I had not seen you for a whle and then met you or rang you i would probally say "whats the craic jad" i am asking you to tell me all the news and gossip!!
if i said "any craic x-megzie-x" i would be asking if there was any news good or bad or anything exciteing happening.

if I was talking to Shin or Sandy (them being from here)and i said "wait till I tell the craic" i would be passing on to them gossip..."wait till you here what happened" in other words..

if I was talking to you and said"we had the best of craic last night" i would mean we had the best of fun or a really good night....

i was in yorkshire visiting my hubby sister and my nephews who were in their 20's and I said to Andrew.."any good craic" meaning any good news, excitement or fun...he looked at me in horror Eek as he thought I was asking him if he knew where I would get good drugs like crack cocaine Eek....slight language problem that needed to be translated.......

hope you now understand all of you over there on the mainland!!!!!!!!!!
my hubbys parents lived in Scotland and hubby still calls a coat hanger a bracket Confused

I remember reading the word "craic" in an Irish novel a few years ago and not knowing what it meant I looked it up in the dictionary, but it wasn't there. So thanks for explaining it Chaddy!
