I've noticed there are not very many postings on this thread lately, so I thought it would be a nice idea for us all to have a thread just to see how we all are.

Personally, I'm not too bad given the health issues.

How is everyone else? I hope you are all well... Wave

I'm just so pleased that I don't have a laptop.

The normal PC will do for me!

Couldn't deal with all this new stuff!!!

I'm just grateful when I sign onto Aol, that it actually conects me!!!

I've had so many problems with their so called service!!!

Grateful for small mercies!

Just read the following on CQ - doesn't sound very hopeful Confused

A spokeswoman for Talkback Thames said: "There is no definitive answer. It will not air this year but we're still in discussions about another series and doing something different but the relationship with Kim and Aggie is still there.

It's ages since i've been here, & got a little advice. Will try & visit more often.

I love the shows, but I did read somewhere that they don't really get on, shame as they make a good team.

Does anyone use those white square block cleaners that errase dirt easily, I get mine from home bargans 2 for 79p, they are fab, I use them for all sorts of things, they are just a wizz in the bathroom & great on glass. Only probs with them is that they just rub away. I think these are defo my best cleaning aid.

keep well

I think I have some of those Cheryl, but I've got so many bottles/packets/tubs etc of cleaning stuff under my sink I probably won't be able to find them, lol. One day I'll get organised & clear it out...........: )

yes I know just what you mean, mines the same, but to be honest since I got those sponges & my electric steamer, I don't really use anything else.

The steamer is really good, it the size of a small vacume, but the steam last for 30 or more mins. great for the bathroom & kitchen, gets into all sorts of nooks & crannies. couldn't live without mine now.

I'm going to Blackpool at the weekend, I've not been for years. What are you up to.

I have a steamer too but I find it a bit fiddly, but mine's only a cheap one. Yours sounds great.
Hope you enjoy Blackpool, I haven't been there for a few years either. My sister & niece are off to Florida today, I'm sooooo jealous! I'm going to Liverpoool on Sat to see the Tall Ships, should be good, hope the weather's better by then.

We had a great time in Blackpool. We were meeting up with 2 other couple who we met on a cruise last year. One couple lives in Blackpool, the other couple live in Derby, so they came & stayed at my house in Leeds on the friday night, then we travelled over to Blackpool.

We walked to the pleasure beach from our hotel. It was very windy & I still haven't got to go on the Big One as it was closed due to high winds, looks very scary though. Not sure I would have gone on though as you don't pay per ride, you get a book of tickets (20 for £20), the big one is 7 tickets, £7 for one ride.....
or alternatively you can pay £30 per person for the whole day. Could work out very expensive for a family.

We saw the signs for the Tall Ships, not sure exactly what it was. Did you have a good time.

I wish I was going off to Florida, fab place, have been 13 times, it's definately not just for kids. Have they gone for 2 weeks? it will be so hot over there now, have been in August and will not go that time of year again, went with sis who teaches so didn't have any choice really.

Have you got any holidays booked ?

Chez

Hia Cheryl sounds like you all had a good time in Blackpool, it's always windy there isn't it! I've been on Tje Big One but to be honest I wasn't that impressed, the view at the top is great on a clear day but it's a bit boring after that.
The Tall Ships were brilliant, we went on board a Polish ship, wish we'd been able to see them sail off.
Wow, 13 times to Florida, I'm very impressed - and jealous, Laugh Big Grin My niece is 12 so they have to go in school hols - & the firm my sister works for still has the traditional weeks off when it closes down virtually completely. Have you been at Xmas? I'd love to go then but am not allowed to be off work in December. My sis is back on Thursday (well, Friday our time) & I'll see her & her photos on Sat, can't wait! Big Grin

I love fast rides, my faves in Florida are the Hulk in Universal & of course the Tower of Terror in Disney, although the Nemesis at Alton Towers is my all time fave, it just such a smooth ride, I've not been for a few years & they were just building the Oblivian last time I was there.

Your sis will be in the air as I type this, I hate coming back from America, jetlag etc.

We have been at christmas, would not advise it. Very busy, the rides take about 2 hours each, you can't move in Disney on xmas day, the weather is unpredictable & sometimes the waterparks are closed. Best time to go in my opinion is October, the parks are empty & the weather is just right. Avoid first 2 weeks of August as the American children go back to school mid August & they all flock to Disney, we were there 2nd & 3rd week & the difference between the week was very noticeable.

Last year we went on a croc watch/airboat ride, we went at mid-day so only saw some very small abandoned baby crocs in a nest. The adult crocs were in the middle of the lake under water, keeping cool. The airboat itself was fab, and when we go back I would love to do an evening or very early morning ride.

The croc watch sounds fab! Would love to do that. Can't wait to see all the photos & souvenirs my sis brings back.
I HATED The Hulk, I was ill all day after going on that!I have to do Tower of Terror on my own as my sis & niece don't like lifts so won't go on that ride, but I quite like it. I loved the Spiderman ride, really not what I expected, but a lot of fun. Can't wait to hear what they say about the new Simpsons ride .
When are you planning on going back? I think I'll try for 2011, if I don't win the Lottery before then : ) And thanks for the advice re Xmas, won't bother with that when I retire.
