Oh dear horrible thing to have happened.....I have read that if you but a dish of vinegar out on the table it absorbs the smell of smoke...may be an old wives tale......I am sure Kim and Aggie used bicarbe of soda and something else....will have a look in their book and see if I can come up with something..may just be that you need to wash down the whole kitchen with a nice smelling cleaner a few times.....and wash the curtains too.....

Thanks, Chaddy and Cuc-koo.
Already have 2 Neutradol blocks on kitchen window ledge, tea tree and lavender oil on cotton wool balls stuffed in various places (in the kitchen, not me !!)also washed down cupboards and walls yesterday. Had doors and windows open all day as weather was lovely - amazing, no rain in Scotland!! - so the smell is barely noticeable now, even to my hyper sensitive snout. Need to have the house smelling fresh and clean as selling it and we're having first viewings next week. Will clean it all again though, rather enjoy cleaning.... really need to get a new hobby!!
Thanks again,
FrogLady

oh sure there is nothing better than keeping your home clean...I live in Northern ireland and we had a beautiful day yesterday and I got a few wee jobs done outdoors...stripped the beds today and a whole pile of washing done and on the line and when nearly dry it rains!!!!!
