I recently hired the 'Rug Doctor' as advertised on t.v. & thought i'd share feedback with you all. It cleaned my cream lounge carpet brilliantly. It only cost's £13.99 for 24hr hire & i hired it from my local Homebase store. The only negative was that the reservoir that the cleaning solution & water goes into was a bit small & had to be topped up a few times. Really easy to use though & took no time at all to do. I lent it to my next door neighbour after & she cleaned her lounge carpet too! Well worth the price & takes the hard work out of carpet cleaning. Saved me a fortune aswell as i nearly bought a new carpet. Can wait a while now!
i borrowed my mates bissell powerwash cleaner, its like an upright hover and its brilliant,. im going to get myself one after xmas, they start from £138 and worth every penny
Hi. Maybe i'll try that when i have a few more pennies. Bit skint at the mo but a good investment i'm sure.

Hia jenny, are the rug doctor machines easy to use? Do they deliver them or do you have to transport them? The results definately sound worth the money, you can buy yourself a nice with the money saved not having to buy a new carpet.
Hi, yes, there is no wand to use like you used to have to. All you do is fill it with the washing solution (you can use whatever carpet cleaner you want to. I used 1001.) Then switch on & slowly walk backwards with the machine whilst pressing a trigger for the solution. It has rotating brushes underneath that do all the hard work for you! You have to pick up the machine yourself but it's not very big. I fitted it in the boot of my hatchback ok standing up. You need to bring two forms of i.d. with you when you collect it. One with your name & address on it & one household bill. Here is the link to find your local hire place http://www.rugdoctor.co.uk/. Good luck.

I used to pay somebody too & he did a brill job. Just that if you hire, you can do the whole house for £13.99 & belive me, there really is no effort needed!!! I generally hate cleaning carpets!

i had my stair and landing carpet professionally cleaned in July at £35 and it was like new again...a month later it started to look a bit grubby again and by October it was as bad as ever..(only 3 in our house)..my neighbour lent me his cousins professional cleaning machine and mr chaddy did the carpet again..lovely(and cost me nothing)a few weeks later grubby looking again..it is a goldy mustart colour...well I went out to out local carpet shop and bought a remnant for £75 and it is the best carpet i ever had...light colour but it is a tight hard weave and I only hoover once a week for the sake of doing it and it never looks as if it needs it...brill carpet
i think a lot of dry cleaners hire these machines out too..dont the carpets get dirtier quicker though once its done? i'm getting a new carpet and getting it scotchguarded for £200...hopefully make it last longer!!
