What does CQ forever mean. (JAD's?
Also, I loathe spiders, can't bear them and have to have them killed so they can't come back.

Welcome Heleniwater Smile

CQ means Cleaning Queens!

Do a search on Google to find the site, and take a look, or better still, you could join! Big Grin

I had the same problem at first Heleniwater. The girls explained to me that the more you post, the more access you have. I'm sure Jenny or Fatbird will be able to explain it more to you Smile

We have Brown Recluse spiders here (Colorado). Their venom is quite toxic, causing the tissue surrounding the bitten area to become infected and die.

Most of us that live up here keep our yards in a "natural" state since the deer and elk population will eat anything that you plant; but I do keep vegetation surrounding the house neatly trimmed to discourage spiders (and wasps) from setting up housekeeping.

I neither love nor hate them, but I certainly respect them. I do my best not to harm them and am generally happy to let them live in ceiling corners, though at times there are a few too many living in the house. I re-home them to the outdoors or to our conservatory where they can do a world of good feeding on the fruit flies and moths that would otherwise be feasting on apple or my beloved knitting wool.

Admittedly, I did recently snuff out the life of a rather large, hairy beast that was moving a bit too fast for me to obtain a suitable container in which to transport him outside. He was the diameter of a mandarin and QUICK! It was me or the spider...

Eek Aww, poor Incey. I generally just leave them to get on with their lives, or get Mr FB to take them outside, but wouldn't have the guts to go after a big one, you're brave KB Wink
