Hot soapy water and a clean dishcloth should be sufficient but if you do get a more stubborn stain on it, try Astonish (in a tub), that's brilliant.

hob-brite is bril. you can get it in asdas. its a bit like jif/cif but is alot less gritty so shouldnt scratch. Or do as JAD says, hot soapy water and loads of elbow grease!!

All of the above - and Lakeland Limited have a ceramic hob kit with a scraper and cloth and replacement blades, it's well worth it (only around £6-ish)

Thanks all, the elbow grease does not work will try the hob-brite for now but the lakeland kit sounds great.

Cermic hobs are tough a plastic scougher used gently with a deturgant to shift stubon stains will do it no harm. My mother had one years ago and she used ajax on it sometimes and it lasted for years with no problems, hers was dark brown though and I know a lot of them today are white.
