Hi, Despite using a 90 degree wash, using soda crystals, and then milton - my machine still smells horrid! I have also noticed black slimey mould on the inner rubber seal which i have tried to clean with milton. Any suggestions? Thanks
i had the same problem a few months ago. I used milton scrubbed as much off as i could. Now i use the washing machine on 60 alot more. I can wash things on a low temp for a few washes. Once a week i run the machine on empty with a little milton. The smell does go and it hasn't come back.
Hi, Thanks for the advice. I miltoned the seal, cleaned the filter and did another hot wash with vinegar and it seems much better - horray! I think i will do 60 degee wash more often to see if that helps.
The drum and seal on my washer are fine, but the detergent drawer gets full of dark, smelly slime (particularly in the fabric conditioner section). I've tried dettol and bleach and they work for a few weeks but then the slime returns.
I run my machine and dishwasher on the hottest cycle using half a mug of THIN Bleach. NB. Only use the thin bleach as the thick stuff causes a very unwanted snow storm across kitchen that makes you reluctant to use the towels in the dirty washing to mop up

Iv'e got a new washing machine and this time i'm drying the seal and door and even draw after i use it and leaving the door open so it doesn't get damp. Also the maintenence washes as there is very hard water here i might use something like calgon maybe.
There are products you can buy from the shops that eliminate smells and residue build up in your machine, similar to a kettle descaler. Think they are 3 to a box. Good luck
