They're harmless and like damp conditions. Try opening windows to air the room or have an extractor fan fitted to reduce the damp.

CQ forever!

Hey, I found them in my new apartment when I moved here. I emptied out all of my pantry closets and kitchen drawers (ones which have crumbs fall into them). Then I vacumned them, especially the cracks, and wiped them all out.

I also put all of my dry goods into airtight sealed plastic containers, to remove any tempting food.

Viola! I haven't seen any since.... Here's hoping it stays that way!

Get them in the downstairs facility. Sometimes in the bath, they are "allegedly" harmless, I only get the odd one, never on a worksurface, at least not whilst I was looking. I let the little blighters get on with it. Only thing I kill are the dreaded flies, not even had many of those this year, think it is because I don't kill the arachnids. Now arachnids, they do creep me out but they are useful, as long as they don't come near me. (shivers)

But I hate the drops of 'spider poo' under the webs!

Silver fish like books/paper - we get them at work when we tip out boxes of old papers - eeek!

Silverfish are harmless and love damp cool conditions, their favourite food is porridge oats and dry wallpaper paste. Try putting down pieces of cotton wool with some essential oil, like cedar oil, they hate that, but first clean the area thoroughly and fill in any gaps or cracks. Big Grin

Ibiza chck, you can get essential oils from chemists/health food shops, etc. If your local Asda has a pharmaceutical counter they might sell it. Good luck.

Silverfish are very useful if you own a hyperactive kitten. Cool

My kitten used to sit for hours waiting for them to come out of a gap in the kitchen wall. When they finally emerged I'd chuck 'em in the (empty) bath and watch kitty go wild! It was like a 3D ice rink!

Ooh, I forgot about the spiders.

Haven't we already talked about how wonderful they are? They're brilliant! Give them a nice place to make a web and watch those other creepy crawlies run for cover!
