how do i get old ring marks (cups) from my oak dresser?

Are we talking burn marks, water marks or indentations? Veneer or solid wood, treated or untreated?

Why have you got marks on there in the first place? You need to consult a professional, not a forum

you could try the kleenese book or beterware ( I think they are on the web to) I'm sure they have somthing in ther for removing cup marks.

Are they white marks? If so try rubbing in mayonnaise and leave overnight. The next morning wipe it off. Or use Vaseline, butter or margarine. Non-gel white toothpaste is also effective in removing white water marks. Dab the toothpaste on a damp cloth and gently massage the ring in a circular motion until it's gone, then wipe and buff with a soft cloth. Apply furniture polish if necessary.

try brown paper and a low heated iron do not leave it on 2 long or you can bye ring away if its white marks,
