Please could someone tell me what the advice was for cleaning washing machines from the show last night? My son decided to talk right through that bit, typical!
I saw they put some white vinegar in the drum and some powder in the dispenser draw.
hi i think the powder was either soap,or soda crystals,it was to clean the washer the drum etc,the white vinegar is to clean the pipes,i havn't done this to my washer as i didn't know it got dirty, but i think the woman last night her clothes must have been comtaminated a lot,so hence the proper cleaning of the washer
a large cup of soap crystals on the hottest longest wash you can get (boil wash usually) and then do the same thing with a pint of white/clear vinegar (put into the drum) on the same cycle. clean out the soap drawer BEFORE doing this though

Soda crystals are an alkali substance made from caustic soda they are found in the cleaning aisle of the supermarket, bearing in mind that they are caustic use caution and rubber gloves when handling them. Full instructions for safe use should be on the container. Hope this helps

I don't think my machine is dirty, but it's what I can't see on the outside of the drum that bothers me. Also I heard her say on the show about how germs on underwear breed in the machine and as I'm potty training my little one at the moment, I thought it would be a good idea, if you see what I mean!
Thanks Lemon drop kid, I wouldn't have known where to find soda crystals either!
Soda crystals are brilliant, you can use them for keeping your drains clean Red Velvet. Pour some down & round your drains then pour hot water over them, helps dissolve the grease & gunk that can cause drains to clog up.
Can you use soda crystals if you have a cess pit system? I have been advised not to use any unnatural cleaning products incase they upset the 'good' bacteria
