Hi all!

I'm about to get some new cleaners, and have always been confused about something.

I want to get something that will kill bacteria... But most cleaners say something like "spray for 30 seconds to sanitize or wait 10 minutes to disenfect."

What's the diff?

I thought that to "sanitize", in the product maker's vocabulary, meant just to clean, whereas disinfect meant to actually kill germs.

Does anyone know? Thanks!

I thought the same as you supagirl, maybe disinfecting kills the germs but sanitizing just cleans the surface? Confused

According to the dic. to disinfect is to get rid of disease-causing bacteria by cleaning with a chemical while sanitizing is making clincially clean! Sounds pretty much the same thing to me! Roll Eyes

It does sound the same JAD - "sanitised " sounds more American, maybe that's their word for "disinfect"? Confused
