I haven't long moved into a house when we started to smell a really horrible smell so I decided I wanted to rip up the ceramic tiles on the hallway floor but when I did this all underneath was covered in urine dont ask me whether it is human, dog or cat I havent got a clue all I know is now I have ripped it all up my house smells vile as it was under the ceramic tiles (must have gone through cracks as they wasnt layed very well) it seems to have soaked into the concrete underneath I have tried talcum powder and also them sprays but it keeps coming back can anybody help me please ??? I am desperate now I am embarresed for ppl to come in
Try using a strong solution of soda crystals (wear gloves!) & scrubbing thoroughly. Don't use talc, that just makes bad smells worse! Hope you get rid of it, but your visitors will know it's not you causing the smell anyway.
sarah lou scrub it well with bleach or jeyes allow to dry for agood few days, then i suggest sealing the floor with concrete seal which you can buy from b&q for around 15 pounds. it should stop any residual smells being released from your floor and will waterproof it making it far more hygienic. good luck
