My "m-i-l" had one, think she just used to unplug it & use kitchen towels & elbow grease, is it the one where the plate bit doesn't come off? She ended up chucking it & getting a cheaper one from Aldi! Sorry.

We had an older one that was a piece of p**s to clean, then we got a newer and bigger one that became a nightmare at first!
What I now do, which really seems to help, is to put a hot dishcloth full of fairy liquid into it as soon as it starts to cool down (but only very slightly) and then it is much easier to clean the following morning.
I have never tried to clean it straight away, so if you are extra fastidious this won't help you, but at least it's worth a try; works for me. Smile

We have one and this tip has always worked. It can also be done after having left it dirty for or a day or two!

Plug the grill in and switch it on (not for too long or you'll burn yourself!, get some paper kitchen towels, put them under a running tap, squeeze out excess water, un-scrunch and lay flat out directly on the metal surface, leave for 5 mins or so, come back, switch the grill off, use a wooden spatula or any other non-metal utensil that won't melt to drag the paper towels and all the dirt and grease off, throw away, then get some new towels and wipe off excess oils. Leave to dry before putting away.

I haven't used miine for ages - it's one of those gadgets sitting in the back of the cupboard! But when I DID use it, I used to just use a damp cloth to clean it, and then kitchen towel to finish it off. I think it's best to do it as soon as you can when it's still a bit warm, so it doesn't stick to it.

oh my partner brought me one of these for christmas it really is better then using the normal grill and is a much healthier option. i let the fat cool down this usually takes a couple of hours and then just get a piece of wet tissue and scrub off the burnt bits.

I use Fairy Power Spray.

I let the grill cool, put on the Fairy Power Spray, leave it 10 minutes or so and then wipe it clean Smile

be careful with your power spray, lots of chemicals in these cleaners, that are hazardous to health
