Anyone got any ideas on the above. My bath taps are chrome or aluminium I think and they really get a build up around the bottom where they meet the enamel (which I can tackle with pumice stone) but also around where the water comes out and where you screw them on and off. Thought about trying lemons, not sure you can use Borax on metal surfaces. Any advice greatly appreciated x

You can't use Borax on aluminium - you could try using white nvinegar, tie a rag soaked in white vinegar round the area, leave overnight then scrub next day, if the tap spout is encrusted fill a plastic bag with white vinegar & tie it round the spout - make sure the spoit is immersed on the vinegar, and leave overnight as before. Good luck.

Chrome or Aluminium?

Isn't stainless steel a more common material for making taps?
