Hi Mo, I think PVA is water soluble so it should wash out - check the bottle/tub, there might be special cleaning instructions on it. Hope it comes out OK.

You're right, it is water based,my book says to saturate a paper towel with warm water, place on the glue spot for up to an hour till the glue softens, then rub with a rug in circular motions till the glue is removed. Hope you get the glue out.

Did it work? Hope so, don't want your poor son on my conscience if it doesn't!

If water doesn't work why not try painting over it?

I'm a primary school teacher and use pva glue on a more or less daily basis. I've never yet managed to get it out of clothes (in 7 years). I have parents asking me how to remove it too, but I can't help them. It's awful stuff.

Do they have a helpline number on the bottles of glue? You could try phoning/e-mailing/writing to the company & see if they have any suggestions for getting it off fabrics/materials.
