i was watching tonights show and almost felt sick. I am moving to a house next week and I remember the toilets were pretty disgusting but not as bad as what we saw this evening. They put white vinegar and a substance called Boretex to clean the loo. Can any one give me the correct spelling of the product and tell me where i can buy this product please. Thank you
I have been trying to buy borax for months and still can't find it anywhere except online when it's very expensive especially with postage. If anyone finds a shop selling it let us know.
Thank you all taking the time to reply to my query. Very much appreciated. I shall check out all the info submitted, and now i have the correct spelling too.
I can usually buy borax in larger branches of Boots. Either it's in their small display of cleaning materials or I ask at the pharmacy and they send somone to find it. You could see whether your local pharmacist is prepared to order some.
I just thought I would let you all know this - unless you didn't already that is - but Borax is actually poisonous and should always be handled with rubber gloves especially when wet!!! I read this in a magazine this morning sitting in the dentists waiting room - its amazing what you get to read in there sometimes!
The wonderful Black Labrador -God's favourite little creature.
Finally found Borax today in Wilkinson's. Itried there ages ago and they said they didn't stock it, do you think it's the influence of Kim and Aggie? Even though we have a large Boots they no longer stock any cleaning products.
Hi, after searching the internet & scouring the shops, i've found that Boots do their own brand of borax. £2.19 for 750g. Will be trying the limescale removal tip mixed with white vinegar tomorrow. Apparantly, Borax has many other uses too. Read somewhere on the internet that this can also be used on carpets to kill fleas. Sprinkle over the carpet & leave overnight then vacuum off in the morning. It dehydrates the fleas!
Borax is now being made by Dri-Pak and you should be able to buy it in places like Wilkinsons, Boots, Budgens, and alot of little shops with loads of screws and things like that.
I've been to 7 different shops in the last few days to buy soda crystals, can't find them anywhere! Is there a national shortage? Are the soda crystal factories being blockaded?!
Borax is un-obtainable through normal sources as I have been informed by numerous chemists and janitorial suppliers because it is sup-posidly used by drug dealers for extending their wares.
It seems that the majority again have to suffer because of the minority. It's not just borax but many products used to make model aircraft engine fuel (and can also be used for cleaning etc.)are now virtually impossible to obtain for similar reasons.
These products have been deemed dangerous and having used them for over 50 years without any ill effect, I cannot see any problems. Anything is dangerous in the wrong hands,
Borax is a simple product and should not be expensive, the problem is finding a sourse.
