A fiver, cuppa, and home made buns for anyone offering to do my ironing. why do i always seem to be ironing. Hubby goes through more clothes than me. Who said men wearn't vain. Why cant we have disposable clothes, we have disposable plates after all. Mind you I can HIGHLY recommend a steam generated iron, for any of you about to buy new iron. Cant think how i lived without it now. Its so good folks, Trust me, makes the job so much easier. And the good news is there coming down in price. I have had many ordinary steam irons over the years , good ones, but they all let me down in time. The last one was a top of the range digital , even that in time let me down, started to leak. But the steam generated , just marvellous. cant fault it. Wink Just thought I would share.

Hi, Jenny, mine is Murphy Richards, Got the good house keeping award for the year. Just ordinary tap water is all you need. And so easy to fill, just remove the tank and fill under the tap. Wink

AW, thanks Chaddy, I think you would to. i've ironed out in the garden sometimes. I really dont mind ironing, when i do a good wash its nice to finish it of well, by good ironing. Talking about good people, i think your amazing, doing so much. Your always on the go. The other day you were working away for charity, I do so admire you for that. I want to see a picture of your doorstop mice. Wouldn't mind buying one. Apart from that I would love to have one knowing you made it. and i would even call it Mandy mouse. Big Grin

Sandy I had a look in the Argos catalogue when I was in town this morning, there was a rather nice looking Morphy Richards iron listed which they have in stock. I didn't have my trolley with me though and didn't fancy walking back home carrying it, so may just get it tomorrow if I go in again, armed with said trolley!

Chaddy those mice doorstops are gorgeous. There so cute. You can tell a lot of work goes into them. You are very talented with your hands.

thank you sandy for your kind words...they are so cute and it takes about £5-£6 in materials to make one..and about 3 hours sewing etc to make one....the charity shop gave me some nice material that had been handed in and I made the mice for them and they sold them for £2.50..i was rageing...i get £10 for them no problem and give the money to charity....i have two left and I am not making any more as I have made about 200plus and I am sick of them!!!!! I am making aprons and mice plastic bag holders and when all that material is done i am going to try onem mit that is shaped like a chicken....I have a lovely book of rag daoll to try and make and one of clowns too....so I am going to cut back on the charity sewing for a while........

Chaddy I also have a Phillips Azur iron, I got it at the end of December. I find that it is a bit difficult to see when the water is actually up to the maximum level of the iron (apart from filling it with the cup full up to it's maximum level first...but then if you want to top the iron up afterwards you can't really see when it is up to the maximum level). Also the calc clean function is not so easy to use as on my previous iron which was a turquoise coloured Rowenta.
