the subject said it all, but basically I was baking and drop some melted chocolate on to my brand new pumps which are in a brown unfinished leather. I don't know whether they are nubuck or suede, I don't think it's the latter. The cooking chocolate had a high cocoa percentage so it was very greasy and has left a dark stain on the leather. I tried washing the surface with plain water immediately after scraping off the solid stuff and on one tried a teensy bit of diluted washing up liquid which unfortunately seems to have either bleeched the colour, or the rubbing action has disturbed the leather, I don't know which but that has left a dark stain (which wasn't affected ) within a pale area on my brown shoes. How can I solve this?
Don't think there's any way to get the stain out, try using a suede brush to see if that brings the nap up, or else get some suede dye & see if that will cover the stain. Sorry, not much help, but someone else may have a solution.
hi this is prob a bit late, if the shoes are still marked spray with stain remover put them in the washer the coulour will fade slightly but they will come our clean, i did it with my husbands nubuck boots, be sure to spray both shoes or one will be lighter than the other
