does anybody know a way of cleaning the marks from the bottom of pans where the heat has marked them?

What's the pans made of reb? You could try soda crystals, although don't know if it'd work if the pans been burn Confusedt

if it is on the outside bottom try fairy spray that Ainsley advertises..fairy power spray OR add a cupfull of washing powder to a sink of hot water(just a few inches of water)and stand the pans in it overnight

I scrub the outside bottom of my pans with cif, works every time.

If its burnt on then I would put some coca cola in the bottom and put it on the stove to boil it should come off really easy

Does anyone know if this method can also be used to clean the 'silver' burner rings on a gas hob?

socks_uk - have a look at the 'cleaning grease with lemon and salt' in here. the powder paste also works on the stains you mention.

oh and dylon's 'big d' tough action oven and grill cleaner (red spray bottle) just about treats anything from dirt to ingrown nails Wink

reb spray the bottom of your pans with oven cleaner leave for an hour then if you have a dishwasher put them in there on the hottest wash.
hey presto clean bottoms, and no hard work.
