you may have strained a tendon chaddy. you could phone NHS direct, and ask their advice, i know we have had some discussions on here about them but it mgiht be worth it or phone to see if your GP could havea quick word with you on the phone or the nurse maybe could.

I had pain in my heel that came on gradually a couple of years ago, It seems that my shoes caused me to develop "fallen arches". My friend suggested arch supports from the chemist and they worked a treat! Also, they are not expensive only $6.00.

Chaddy - glad you're feeling a bit better. Can I ask a few questions regarding your flat feet (if you don't mind).
My youngest has 'fallen arches' and has inserts to put in her shoes. The podiatrist says that they may or may not cause her to develop arches - it's just a bit of a gamble.
How do your flat feet affect you day-to-day ? I know you play badminton but can you do other sports ? Can you wear high heels ? Do you ache anywhere because of them ?
Hope you don't mind answering these questions but I don't know anyone else with this. Thanks a million.

I dont mind SP hope I can help...i nearly always wear flat shoes heals..but i do have a pair of boots that i wear that have about and 2inch heel and the heel itsself is a chunky heel not stiletto..i wear high heals also when going somewhere special and would be wearing a dress...I dont have any problems wearing heals for a short time..i have been doing a lot of walking this past few weeks and have had pain in the flat soft part of my heel but cant say having flat feet caused it..the doctor diagnoised me with fallen arches as a child and I think flat feet are the same thing ..maybe I am wrong.....i as a child had on of those things for my arches but I found them uncomfortable..times have changed..i dont play any other sports now but I did play hockey and was a good alrounder at sport so it did not affect me that way....hope all goes well with your we girl...

my MIL swears by it. Think you can get it in Boots. My mother uses Emu Cream/oil - think it must be Australian with a name like that - she heard about it in her Woman's Weekly/My Weekly.
