Yesterday I was a good girl and emptied fridge and completely cleaned it out, something had been whiffing in there and I located it to be some slightly off asparagus. Made me gag. So into bin went asparagus....

Today my bin stinks!!!!!!!!!! Roll Eyes

I do that all the time. Buy some veg and forget about it that it goes bad. It's hard to keep the veg in my house because hubby doesn't know the meaning of "veg are good for you". So it's a waste what I buy. Now that you have reminded me. I have some asparagus in the fridge too.

Yes I know what you mean. I go round the supermarket buying all this fruit and veg with good intentions, but always buy too much at a time! And sometimes my fridge plays up and goes way too cold and ends up freezing stuff in the veg drawer at the bottom.

Sorry Natnee for laughing at that but it we have another fridge ~ it's our drinks fridge (hubby prefers to call it the beer fridge). We put cans of coke into it and the ones at the back freeze and the explode! It's a brand new fridge and already it needs defrosting at the back. How come I haven't needed to defrost my own fridge?

Sounds like the thermostat is set too high, Chaddy. Is there a knob you can turn to adjust it?

My fridge is on about as low as it can go, without it being a cupboard!, and it still has ice on the back wall of it. I've had it for 4 years, maybe it's had it's time.

It should last more than 4 years surely! Eek I had my last fridge/freezer for at least 12 years, probably more like 15, and wish I'd kept it, don't like our new one at all. Frown

I would love one of those huge big fridge freezers, with the ice and water dispensers in the front. No chance as kitchen not big enough. Will need a bigger kitchen, no chance as house not big enough to extend kitchen. Will just have to move then!

My mate won £7, 500 in a magazine last year & she got one of those American style fridge-freezers, she loves it! We couldn't have one as they have to be connected up to the water supply & our fridge is in the dining room as the kitchens too small Frown

It's a Lec, FB, and I'm hanging on to it like grim death because it just fits in under a set of cupboards in the kitchen. Other half-sized ones that I've looked at are a few mm. too tall. I would love to have a full sized self-defrosting one but there's simply nowhere to put it (except upstairs in the spare bedroom, not exactly convenient!) Roll Eyes
