does anyone else find they seem to iron more in Summer than Winter. And if so, does that mean were dirty brutes in winter, not changing as often, Big Grin I seem to be ironing non stop lately. They say women are vain, but i think my hubby changes his clothes more often than his mind. now i dont really mind ironing, and if anyone is thinking of a new iron, Do keep a steam generator in mind. Can highly recommend it, makes the job so much easier. Its really great. But I hate ironing Shirts. Who ever invented shirts should be locked up. Big Grin

Talking of ironing, did a basket full last night. We get disposable plates, why not disposable clothes. Big Grin

Tend to do more ironing in summer because of hanging it on the line. in winter using the tumble dryer and folding it when still warm stops so many creases. Shirts are a nuisance but got mine down to a fine art now. did 7 in 10 minutes once when i timed myself!! Big Grin

Please someone come over and do the 2 big piles I have here. Ironing is not my fave and I always say I will get myself into a routine with it but it doesn't happened. Always tired when I get home from work to do it and spend the weekend cleaning the house. Well, ok not all the weekend.

I don't do ironing very often, a lot of my clothes I get away with not ironing. On my spare bed is a washing basket which is always full to the brim with 'ironing'. I can honestly say I have probably ironed less than 10 times in the past year. Sometimes I will do the odd item if I want to wear it and it really needs doing, and sometimes I have the odd strange afternoon where I feel the need to iron, and blitz the whole basket load! Hubby usually does his own shirts, they are the worst thing ever in the world to iron. I can't understand people who iron their bedding and stuff like that.

I don't mind ironing shirts - I seem to have done so many that they come easy now! I hate ironing dresses and trousers though. I don't iron bedding and towels etc though I think I may have done when I was first married (in the early 1970's Eek)!

I iron most things although I hate it. But in K & A's new book it says ironing stuff like tea-towels will help kill off any nasties lurking on them, so suppose it's "carry on ironing" Roll Eyes

My laundry basket is full of stuff to be ironed but it's too hot and even with my spanking new iron I can't face it! Red Face

Why can't we edit posts any more? I wanted to stick in "including tea towels" after laundry basket, but apparently I don't have permission!! Mad

I iron everything except socks and towels. yep i iron sheets and pillowcases. Big Grin I'm so fussy about my bed. I spray the pillowcases with lavender linen spray as i iron them. Buy it from the National trust gift shops. Big Grin I iron tea towels as well. Big Grin Dont iron towels, because it flattens the pile.

I use Vaporesse too.

What is folding towels 'the Anthea way'? I have never watched her show as I find her a bit annoying.

Same as you Chads i iron everything as it comes in of the line, Cant stand ironing laying around. I'm very fussy washing, seperate all the whites and colours and darks. when i do a nice bright sparkling wash, i like to finish it of well. And so fussy putting it away. Everything must go in its proper drawer or wardrobe. I know I'm a fuss-pot I admit it. Cant help it. Confused

I am like to Natnee. I have two big piles of ironing here to do and I just can't face it. It mostly my clothes as Mr Shin doesn't need work clothes ironed as he is on a building site all day. So I am so glad he doesn't wear shirts to work. Hate ironing them. I then would get a bust of energy and iron the lot but at the minute it is iron as I need them. I hate being that way though as I feel so disorganised. But I would iron everything except underwear, socks and towels. I always iron my pillowcases but not the rest of my bedding as it is so awkward. And also because I have concrete floors and the bedding would just get dirty again. Well that my excuse anyway.

Carol, I not that great on explain things but if you go to the Martha Stewart website (can't post a link) it will show you there. Just google search her name and you will get it straight away. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on home and organising. Click on homekeeping along the top of that page. Then down the left hand side click organising and then closets and drawers. In the list that comes up click on how to fold a towel. And wallah! Hope this helps and there is other good things on that site too.

Hope this post doesn't get deleted now!
