When Film4 came to freeview I was excited. I was looking forward to a wide range of films some not often seen on regular TV. I thought we would get foreign films that were off the beaten track. However it seems it is the same films every month.
Gladiator is on AGAIN!!! tonight, this is for the umpteenth time. I have lost count how many times I have seen this on Film4. Also 28 Days Later is on again after been shown only a few weeks ago. I am tired of seeing the same films in rotation. When are we going to get truly interesting NEW films. I don't mean straight out the cinema after release but stuff we haven't seen before.
Or was this only possible when it was a satellite channel with healthy income from subscriptions but since the switch to freeview the buget is more limited? Come on Channel4 if you can fund rubbish such as Big Brother you could give us more varied films.
I agree with you BK_Inver - when i first heard that Film4 was going to be free i was really excited and looking forward to loads of films. But when it finally arrived i too noticed that it's just the same all the time!!
I always check the channel every day just in case there is something new and different on but i find it's just the same old same old. I also find that a few months down the line Channel 4 then shows the same film that has been repeatedly shown on Film4, lol!

And even more annoyingly some of the movies are show once and then never again.
