12th Bradford Film Festival - KES REUNION!!!

What do you think about reunions - this is after 37 years after the film, KES, was made?

The highlight of the 12th Bradford Film Festival held at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, in Bradford, will be a Kes Reunion and Book Launch.

Although the event and full line up of celebrities has yet not been posted on http://www.nmpft.org.uk/ (the official website), the programmes are being produced today and tickets will be going on sale in the next few days.

On stage conducting a Questions and Answer session, starting at 7m, Thursday 9th March 2006, will be Ken Loach (Director and co-screenwriter of Kes), Tony Garnett (Producer and co-screenwriter of Kes), Barry Hines (author of A Kestrel For A Knave and co-screenwriter of Kes), Colin Welland (Mr Farthing) and Simon W. Golding (author of Life After Kes – visit; www.lifeafterkes.co.uk ). Anthony Hayward, author of Which Side Are You On; the definitive biography covering all of Loach’s work, will host the evening. Also Chris Menges, double Oscar winner, who was the cinematographer on Kes will also be in attendance. Freddie Fletcher (Jud Casper) is hoped to attend. David (Dai) Bradley (Billy Casper) is yet to confirm.

Most of the cast and some of the crew will be present.

Simon W. Golding and Anthony Hayward will conduct a book signing session after the Q & A session (Screen Talk). A special screening of Kes will follow.
