Can you help please?
What was the name of the film shown on Thurs, 22/05/08 at 11:00 pm to replace 'Exterminating Angels'? It was a Spanish film with English sub-titles.
Hope someone can help. Thankyou

Many thanks for your posts - unfortunately due to technical issues we were unable to show Exterminating Angels as scheduled. Many apologies for the late change but we will definitely be scheduling it again, and will update you with more definite dates and times.

I don't think that Exterminating Angels has been classified by the BBFC yet.

As far as I'm aware, broadcasters are allowed to screen films that have never been issued with a BBFC certificate, though they're obligated to use common sense when deciding a) if the material is suitable for broadcast and b) the proper time of day for transmission.

However, where a certificate has been issued, broadcasters are legally obliged to screen the version certificated for video. If a cinema certificate is all that's available, then that's OK, too. Again, common sense is the watch-word - we won't be seeing the likes of NEKROMANTIK or RED TO KILL on Film 4 anytime soon...

Looking at the IMDB site makes me think that the sexual content of this film is such that an 18 certificate cannot be guaranteed.

Yes, I know what you mean. But have you seen some of the filth... er, I mean, artistic endeavours (ahem!) passed at 18 by the BBFC? BAISE-MOI, 9 SONGS and SHORTBUS are recent examples which indicate THE EXTERMINATING ANGELS would have sailed through without so much as a cough or an excuse-me... Wink
