Re Akenfield:
If you are a broadcaster or film distributor : Akenfield was filmed in 35mm scope and runs for 98 minutes. The film Akenfield has not been seen for 30 years and is now available for distribution in all territories, and in all media.
Contact: Louisa Bewley, National Film Trustee Company Ltd, 66-68 Margaret Street, LONDON W1W 8FR. Fax: 020 7636 6711.
Any chance please? The 2006 'Return to Akenfield' was popular enough to be released in paperback last March (following the hardback edition) so there must be a demand for the film.

I have asked this elsewhere but as I have not had a reply I thought I would ask it again here.
Is there any chance of you showing 'The Victors'?
It is one of the best war films ever made but seems to have disappeared completely.
Regards, Art.

I would like to see some of the early Zhang Yimou films that are really hard to find on high quality DVD:
Red Sorghum Ju Dou Raise the Red Lantern The Story of Qiu Ju Huozhe (not sure of the English title) Shanghai Triad.
Other films I would like to see are: Chungking Express Fallen Angels Farewell my Concubine Temptress Moon Plus films by Ji-Woon Kim other than a Tale of Two Sisters.
Thanks!

I know you have Assault on Precinct 13, but do you have the rights to any other John Carpenter films because I've never seen The Thing and I'm not sure if it's ITV that have the rights to that.

Hello FilmFour.
A previous post mentioned John Carpenter - I would love to see Elvis, directed by Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell. I saw it years ago when I was a kid and loved it, but now it can't be found anywhere.
Also, how about a post-apocalyptic/desert wasteland type season? Films like - A Boy and His Dog, Le Dernier Combat, Mad Max II etc.
Thanks.

Saw that you have Pan's Labyrinth and Election on 4OD. Is there much chance of them appearing on Film4 itself in the near future?

Any chance you will screen 'Eat The Peach' and 'Heavenly Pursuits'. It's been an age since either have been screened. The whole film four back catalogue from the early days could do with a revisit.

With the passing of Philippe Noiret recently would you please run 'Le Cop' and 'Le Cop 2'as a tribute to a great actor, and just because they are excellent films.
Many thanks

I am getting a little used to this site now. Years ago Channel 4 showed the wonderful Alan Freed biop from 1978 'American Hot Wax' - what are the chances of this being shown please? Also, what about 'Looking For An Echo'? from 2000? Many positive remarks on Amazon and IMDB from 'our friends across the pond' but I don't think it has had a cinema release over here - let alone been shown on terrestrial TV. Thank you for reading.

Any chance of ever showing the classic 'Good and Bad at Games' - one of the first classic FilmFours....
On a similar genre I see Lindsay Anderson's 'If' is out on DVD that African soundtrack still haunts me - another great British film the old beeb summer of film has managed to ignore...
Whatver = one day you will screen it!

Many thanks for all your posts - unfortunately we no longer have rights to Eat The Peach, but we do have VOD rights for Heavenly Pursuits, so will keep you posted regarding any future scheduling of that title on our 4OD service. Thank you for the suggestion re a Bergman season - in the short term we are showing Scenes From a Marriage on Film4 on Sunday 16th September at 12.20 am, and will keep you posted if there are any plans to run a more comprehensive season of his films. Unfortunately we do not currently have rights to Le Cop, Le Cop 2, American Hot Wax or Looking For an Echo - should anything change, we will certainly update you. The rights have expired on Good and Bad at Games, sadly, so that is not one we will be showing at this point. We will, however, be screening If on Film4 at the beginning of October, with more exact times and dates to follow.
