Many thanks for your posts and suggestions - we will be showing 2 Altman films in October in our Friday strand Films To See Before You Die. The Player screens on Friday 13th at 10.45pm and Short Cuts is on the following Friday Oct 2oth, at 11.35pm.
Unfortunately we no longer have the rights to 1900.
Re the Asian extremes, hopefully you will have seen Battle Royale and Audition recently on the channel. There is a a separate post about the upcoming Korean season of films in October, which includes A Tale of Two Sisters.
Thank you also for the Sidney Lumet suggestion - we have nothing planned at the moment but will let you know if our plans change.

Any chance at some point in the future of Film Four showing the Directors Cut of Legend? which at present has not been released in the UK. It's had a good half an hour put back in the film by Ridley Scott, and been re-certified to a 12 or a 15 which I believe was the orginal plan until the preview audiences changed to the Exec's mind.

I would love to see Metropolis screened.

Also, any plans for a sci-fi B movies season? - you know the ones that feature monsters and beings that are more foamy than frighty!
(seeing Dr Cyclops! and This Island Earth stirred something deep inside)
Some Suggestions For Starters:
It! The Terror From Beyond Space, Forbidden
Planet, Them, The Land Before Time, The Quiet Earth, Q - The Winged Serpent, Dead Of Night.

Today the Korean film season is starting. I know Lady Vengeance is going to be shown and so is Oldboy. I've heard that these are two of three films made by the same director about revenge and the third one that isn't yet being shown is Sympathy For Mr Vengeance(funny title) so would be have to wait long for that to be shown on FilmFour in the near future.

Also is there any chance of Essex Boys being screened in the coming months.

Also I enjoyed the Studio Ghibli season of films a couple of months ago and was hoping to see more movies from the Anime genre being shown on FilmFour. Maybe something like Ghost In The Shell or Ninja Scroll. Inknow these films are aimed at an adult audience but I think there would be a large audience for it especially if viewer rating were good for when they showed something like Battle Royale.

Hats off to film 4 for bringing film seasons like Studio Ghibli, having never seen any japanese anim films before I thoroughly enjoyed them, well done. I am also a Big Fan of Second World War films and would love to share the likes of 'The Hill' (Sean Connery) and 'The Train' (Burt Lancaster) with the Film 4 viewers.

Hey Warwick999 if you enjoyed Studio Ghibli season I recommend for you to watch Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. Also if you would like to see more sophisticated adult anime check out Casshern ( I heard it's supposed to be good) and also Vampire Hunter D.

Hi there, new here.

I was wondering, would it be possible for FilmFour to show Xanadu?, it would make a good addition to the Sunday "guilty pleasure" lineup

Have you any plans to screen 'Amercan Movie' (Chris Smith and Sarah Price) anytime soon? I know its been on channel 4 before.

You need to show this film as you cant even buy it in this country.

Thanks

Could we have a De Niro Vs Brando season? As these are the two greatest actors of all time in my opinion. You've shown the greatest film ever made over the last couple of weeks, Taxi Driver, in the best films to see before you die. I think it would be good to screen a De Niro film one week and a Brando film the following, and the final film in the season could be The Score, in which they both appeared.

Hello Film Four,

Love the channel. The variety of films you show is simply amazing.

Do you have the rights to show Michael Mann's "THE KEEP" ?

Also, I missed "Southern Comfort" a week or two ago, will you be showing it again?

Many thanks for your posts, and hopefully this post will address some of your questions. Re The Keep - unfortunately we no longer have the rights to this one.
We will be showing Southern Comfort again next year - we will keep you posted with more precise dates and times once it is scheduled.
We have no fixed date to show Those Glory Glory Days again but will certainly let you know if it goes into the schedule -this is also the case with Hear My Song.
Thank you also for the Brando vs De Niro suggestion - unfortunately we no longer have the rights to The Score.
We will be showing The Train on Wednesday 22nd November at 6.25, so hopefully you will catch it.
Unfortunately we don't have the rights to either Xanadu or American Movie.

Thanks for the reply FilmFour Channel. You are screening Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter on FilmFour at the moment, which is more than enough to satisfy my De Niro craving! Shame about The Score though, I think it's a very good film. Have you got any plans to screen Bang the Drum Slowly or any of De Niro's early collaborations with Brian DePalma?

Hi Flim Four (my first post here ^^)

I was wondering if there is going to be another anime season, like the Studio Ghibli season, again?

I really enjoyed the Studio Ghibli season, I had never seen any of those animes before, so thanks for that Smile

Hiya I was just wondering if there are any plans to show Nina's Heavenly Delights. Tried to see it when it was released but couldn't find any cinemas screening it.

Many thanks Valentine

I noticed that Channel4 showed the director's cut of Natural Born Killers after the (rather disappointing) premiere of Battle Royale II. Will Film4 be showing any Director's Cuts of films at some point?
