I read that Channel 4+1 will replace Film4+1 in August. Is this on all platforms or just Freeview?

I think it would be a big mistake to drop it altogether, I have often found it more convenient to watch and record on Film4+1 than Film4. I hope you will keep it going on Satellite at least.

While I can understand that C4 wishes to give satellite some advantage to con people into paying for TV, I'd just like to add my disappointment about this move.

I am also very dissapointed. I have no need to watch Channel 4 one hour later, except under very unusual circumstances. Whereas our whole family watched Film4 + 1 on Freeview regularly. Please can you put it back.

I just registered so i can say how annoyed i am film4 +1 is not available on freeview anymore. I can record things off 4 easily but i cannot seem to do that with freeview channels. Yesterday i had missed creep at 11:05 so i was going to watch it on film4 +1 but it was not there. That was the only +1 channel i watched so i am very disappointed.

Absolutely gutted that CH4 has done this! as I (and many of my friends and family) have never been able to receive Film4 on freeview ch812, but Film4+1 was available to all and was my favourite channel.

I don't understand the need for CH4+1 anyway, as most of the shows are regularly repeated on More4, E4, and E4+1!!!!!

How many times do you expect someone to watch the same bloody show?? Eg Cape Wrath on CH4 then an hour later on CH4+1, then E4 and finally E4+1??

Please reconsider this move and return Film4+1 to those that cannot receive Film4....or at very least make arrangements to have the channel position of Film4 moved so that it is then available to all!

I also am really disappointed at film 4 + 1 being removed and have registered purely becuase of this. I have never been able to receive film4 (the only freeview channel not available) and film4 + 1 was one of my most watched channels. I'm really going to miss it and am quite angry as it has been replaced by a pointless channel which most people will never watch.

I too am unable to receive film4 on freeview where I live, so regulary watched film4+1, if channel 4 really deem it neccesary to remove this channel perhaps they could move film 4 to the old film4+1 channel as it is more widely received.
(or is it just a shallow attempt to boost big brothers viewing rate, as that's all that seems to be on when I've sat down to try and watch a film)

I too have Freeview,and like a lot of others I'm more than a little angry about the loss of Film 4+1 to Freeview viewers. Like a lot of people I know I can't afford satilitle TV (I'm retired) nor do I want to put anymore money into the hands of Murdoch and CO. Am I alone insuspecting that Ch 4 is trying to garner some lost revenue by 'persuading' Freeview viewers to switch to satitile TV and thus pay for Film4+1, or am I just a cynical old bat? I know one thing, I shall not be switching from Freeview, which for me is about more than cost, there's a pribnciple involved here. However my local DVD rental store is about to make mega bucks, and I shall go on adding to my 250+ movie collection, so CH$ you've not only lost a viewer, (and I don't watch Ch4 that much anyway) but your are not going to get any dosh from this kid.

I wish to add my voice to the complaints about Film4+1 being withdrawn.

The +1 option is so useful for a film channel. It gives me greater flexibility for viewing as each ‘program’ runs for a long time. With it I can watch a lot more on Film4 as I am rarely ready to sit down to watch TV before 10 pm.

Will Film4 / Freewiew reconsider and re-instate this option ? Not only would this help me but it would also help all those people who can only receive Film4. What have they got to say ?

I fully agree with all here.Why drop film4+1 from freeview? Not only as stated earlier that ch4/e4/more4 show practically the the same shows?!(theres original programming and theres repeated programming, learn the difference!) Why not show these online to viewers that want them (bypass Murdoch!, cut out the middle man?) or even go interactive?
Film4+1 was more than a convienience, it allowed for films from your different channels watchable within a time scale.......
I hope you reconsider Film4+1 (creating a new channel/re-instate?)

Ok, great, really happy over that. NOT!!! So could you please do me and most of the other Film4 viewers a big favour, turn Film4+1 back on for Freeview watchers who are being treated pretty shabbily by C4 and other channel providers.

Hullo all, just registered on the forum to say: I too am extremely grumpy about Film4+1 going missing from Freeview. This will not get me watching Channel4+1, this will simply mean I watch Film4+1 less

Add me to the list of people who would like Film4 back, either by bringing back Film4+1 or swapping Fim4 with one of the pointless entertainment channels we can all receive.

also most peeved about this, I used to watch films when most of my family had gone to bed, can't do that now because they all start too early
