hi F4. I am really happy you guys have gone free and that you are showing some great movies... but... could you freshen up your lineup please? Last of the Mohicans... seriously? This film has been shown on terrestrial a million times.

although it is nice to see you are screening Bright Young Things.. even if it is on a crap time.

But that's just the point: Film Four never used to be a commercial channel but has now become one. I do watch movies on commercial channels but I don't expect a proper cinematic experience. I know that makes me sound like a snob, but there you go.

Previously on Film Four, you sat down for good quality, not-so-mainstream movies without any interruption. You could really get into them. Now, well...

I just wish I could have the option to opt for a paying ad-free version. Although I'm not even sure about the quality of movies going forward.

Very little, because of the cropping to 16:9 aspect ratio. Why do you never respond to posts about this?

I loved the film Yes shown recently (rated it 5), but missed the begining as to how they met. It is scheduled to be shown again soon?

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. We're glad you enjoyed Yes, 'sunnyboy' - no immediate plans for another screening after the 2 it had in December, but it will be back in 2007.

Hello FilmFour. Thanks for all the great films you've shown over the last few months, and especially for the Roberto Rossellini season. I just have a few quick questions:

1. I noticed that The Red Violin is a Film Four production. Is there any chance of it being shown in the near future?

2. As Last Night was shown quite recently on Channel 4, does this mean you have the rights to Don McKellar's other film, Childstar?

3. Are there plans to show any more Takashi Miike films?

Thanks in advance.

sorry, this is not a reply, its a question,...on film 4,can anybody tell me why they would change satellite frequencies without any warning?as we all dont have a sky box ,theres a large audience out there with other satellite receivers ie technomate, humax ,.etc...do you change them cause you dont want other than sky viewers to see them,i dont think thats the reason at all but,i still cant think of any sensible reason for this, and i think that your advertisers would be too happy,..can you at least let me know what the new frequencies are, also pid,s audio and video,fec,etc,...

Please please please stop showing No Business Like Show Business it's been on too many times now and Marilyn Monroe wasn't even a good actress but yet there always seems to be one of her films on every week.

What about showing some other classic actreeses Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, Hedy Lamarr, Jean Harlow, Hayley Mills, Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardner why are they not on????

Good to see you are not afraid to show Dumplings even though you are bound to get complaints.

Please though could you show Suicide Club as its not available on DVD in the UK for some reason.

Hi Film4

One particular film I would love to see again is the 1935 Becky Sharp, the first feature film shot in 3-strip Technicolor. The film was restored by the UCLA in 1984 and this version has only ever been shown once on UK television, by the BBC in 1994.

PS thank you very much for showing the Frank Capra film American Madness from 1932. It's great to see films of this age continuing to be shown on TV. I hope there will be many others.

I hope the Virginia Tech massacre will not put you off showing Oldboy or Elephant in the near future.

Didn't you read the newspapers? The killer recreated a couple of poses from the film in the photos sent to NBC.

Thanks for showing 'Antwone Fisher' the other night!!!

It was a great film that moved me from beginning to end!

Even though the story is told well, I recommend to anyone to read the book this film was based on, 'Finding Fish'. There were so many things left out of the film, but a great film all the same!
