Meh, i was disappointed. I've never seen the remake, but for once i can actually see the benefit of some good special effects and sound design. I'm sure the acting in the US version was bad enough to ruin it though, and Sarah-Michelle Gellars face.
A couple of bits, i.e the TV news report and the surveillance camera (with the eyes) were creepy enough, but the tacky make-up just ruined the chills, you can't even suspend disbelief when they're quite plainly kids in face paint.
Tale of Two Sisters is miles better and has the same sort of story and style. The girl on the bed scene in that film is how most scenes in Ju-On should have looked.
