Im sorry guys but I just watched it and i'm affraid to say I was disappointed. I luved the fact that it was a Caromac ending but I didn't understand the significance of the baloons. I felt that it wasn't a good enough episode to constitute the ending of a fantabulous series. A lot of the earlier scenes should have been cut to make the episode shorter but to give it a more edgyness with features throughout the two series. There should have been more of sue white's randomness and less of the relationship/ drama side and possibly more seen in the hospital. I felt that it was becoming more of a soap and less about the comedy, afterall it is supposed to be situated in a hoapital.

However the standout bit for me was the 'Are you serenading me with lional richie?' and of course the dp kilt. For me though the star was alan and although it didn't provide me with belly laughs it was a nice piece of gw.

Anyone agree/disagree?

I think that we're dissapointed because we expected sooooooooooooo much. Perhaps we're being too cynical again about the ending- it's was symbolic of Caro being alone again, and i can'r say more on that until i see the final line of the other ending. It was overall a great show- i was in stitches and crying at the same time- surely that's powerful enough?!

I was dissapointed, because when I think about it, we didn't really find out anything about anyone that we didn't already know. We didn't even get Mac's first name. And I was hoping that Mac would discover that he wasn't really dying. At least he and Caroline got married in the end.

i know what you mean, it wasnt the funniest or the best end to the sereis, but still brilliant! i kinda like the fact we didn't know macs name 'coz it will remain a mystery. also, i was disapointed that mac was actually dying. all teh theories now seem silly becasue people thought about it in way to much depth, it was much more simple. joanna and alan was cute as the end and boyce & alan was adorable. hopefully i can go to the siging-but @ the moment no one i know can cum!

Well, maybe people were expecting too much. Some people wanted Caroline to end up with Mac, others wanted her with Guy (not a lot, but some). There were too many directions to go in, the ending can't please everyone. I absolutely loved it, apart from Joanna and Alan killing themselves!

i didnt think the zoom at the start in the funeral where it quickly went from outside to inside wasnt pure greenwing, that kind of editing never happens, it didnt feel right but the i think the rest of it was, i was kinda dissapointed that the opening music wasnt on for that long, i think they could have had it a bit quieter behind the words lke they normally do instead of being completly cut off but i liked the black and white thing at the start

The thing is, there was sooo much still answered, like we never found out Mac's real name throughout the whole story, we were never told how Angela died, we don't know where Caroline goes after Mac's death, we never knew why Mac was dying...kinda dissapointed about that. Feels like there should be another one.

basically i built my hopes up too high....

And also, they didn't tell us how Joanna and Alan got off the cliff!!!

Or did they? Maybe I just can't remember.

angela died from a moose - guy said and joanna and statham were just on a cliff they could climb down, most cliffs have a path down to the beach and im guessing that one did as well but i would like to know macs name and what he is dying off, i rewatched it to try to work it out but there are to many different camera angles to work it out

When Statham and Joanna were writing the postcard they said that Martin suggested calling the AA. so they must have towed it out or something.

ohhhh that cliff-> i thought u meant when they were swallowing keys etc! yes i think marting new from before to call the AA, it sounds random enough

But, on the commentry for one of the episodes in series 2 it says that Harriet is actually pregnant, and they fimled all her stuff before she gave birth .. so apparently the office girls didn't really get a proper story line.

i was disapointed but it was how i imagined the series would end (which in some ways makes me smug haha) mainly i was disapointed because it was full stop finished.

I think it didn't work out so well because it was spread over a period of time- the usual GW ep goes from beginning to an end of a day.

still enjoyed it though

A couple of other things we will never know (unless I missed it and somebody can enlighten me!)
Who was Makenzie's dad? I still assume Guy but we never found out for sure.
Will Martin ever meet his real dad and have the family that he was angling for in the final ep?

Nah I don't think Guy was the father. Tbh listening to the commentary, Holly was just a character to prevent Mac & Caroline getting together and to replace Angela's role

Yeah but they kinda never had much of a story line- just sketches.

Nope gotta disagree here i loved it! Just the write mix of comedy and sadness and still a satisfying ending. People are making too much of a big deal about the ballons, i think this was just a slightly meaningless, fun and lighthearted ending- and something to keep us guessing. For me it really ended as they were standing on the castle! Also i think that the loose ends that were tied up strangley were supposed to be a bit tongue-in-cheek- sue's resolving her unrequited love and finding a random hot guy straight away for example! Loved the office girls' scenes and the unspoken caroline/ macs feelings right until the end which follow the general trend of green wing!

oh and since when has green wing resolved ANY endings?! We still don't really know how they got off the cliff at the end of series 1 let alone series 2!

erm........i've not been here before :P so i didn't realise this was the last ep, you can imagine my shock when i was watching the special and realised this was probably the last ep. THAT'S WHY I WAS DISAPPOINTED! but was this definitely the last EVER episode???

why do all the good programmes end so quickly?!?!?! it's just not fair!!! this is my fav programme in the whole world...i need more of it!!! although, if you think about it, if they did a third series it would be a bit depressing, Mac would be dying (unless they found a miracle cure, which they usually do in telly!) Caroline would be floating off to some distant land on her baloons Joanna and Statham would be in prison for their killing spree (hehehe) guy wouldn't have anyone to love, although there's always sue white haha! but still!!! it shouldnt be coming to an end yet, it's just not fair! i need my dose of dr statham! :'( i love his character, its such a waste :P

so, is it really and truly ending????

i reackon they'rr make another episode, maybe another special, probably not soon but one day.

you never know, they might do a comic relief special like a couple of years back! it could happen, lets just hope!

I hope they don't, look at blackadder! We may just have to accept that it ended on a high

I have to say that 1 thing i did like about it was the fact that they didn't release mac's actual name - in some ways it would have ruined the mystery surrounding the character. I would like to know who makenzie's father was though! Even if it didn't tie in with the story
