Nooo! I love Guy as a character but wouldn't wish him on Caroline! Not sure I'd wish her on Mac but it's a better pairing.

I don't agree either, I don't have a fave between Mac/JRT and Guy/Stephen (they are both good in their VERY different roles) but I'd love to see Caroline with Guy, purely because it would be a much better story arc!

The Guy/Caroline storyline would be a stronger conclusion. Mac/Caroline - been there/done that.

Ok we know the final scene is Guy and Caroline at the station but we dont know if any other cast members are there. I presume from the article that they would have said if Mac was there. They even have time to mention Tamsin's husband.

There's a reasonable chance that Mac, Guy and Martin have already asked her to marry them and she's said no to all 3 because she's confused about her feelings.

I like the idea posted on the forum which has Guy leaving because he cant cope with seeing Caroline with Mac (there may be a misunderstanding that makes him think she's said yes to Mac). Caroline finds out he's left and rushes to the station so its a frantic end to the show again.

However the writers might want to leave us with a painful end and Mangan doesnt seem to like playing the guy who gets the girl so ........
..... so I'm confused.

I would like them together because Caroline isnt cheerleader material and would end up with a less than perfect partner. Its real life for once and a satisfying conclusion to a bitter/sweet series.

Maybe Caroline leaves and Guy goes after her.

I figure the last scene with Guy and Caroline needn't be any pivotal thing, maybe just a fitting conclusion to the show. I'm not sure as I havent actually seen the first ever episode but didn't it end up with Caroline at Guys flat? So maybe it just a fitting ending y'know, the series starting with C&G and ends with them too, even if Caroline (hopefully) ends up with Mac.

I'm clutching at straws and hoping it is pivotal. I want Caroline on the platform expressing her love for Guy and him to be flabbergasted and then so thrilled he's going onto people like an excited schoolboy.

Guy does kiss Caroline in a car but thats earlier in the series. He plays that in a OTT way so you'd think she'd never change her views of him after that. Hopefully they'll need to add a few touching scenes for any get together to make sense.

Maybe the bit at the station is a "brief encounter" spoof - with Guy asking Caroline to come away with him, and Caroline doing a clipped English accent a la Celia Johnson and saying "no, I must stay with Mac and be Mrs Mac, because that is the conventional thing to do and a majority of the viewers demand it!"

I don't care how it happens as long as she and Mac get together in the end

Caroline could be the one leaving.

I wondered if Mac's new role is as a consultant at the hospital.

In episode 7, the synopsis says that: " Caroline has to be cruel to be kind."

I don't like the sound of that at ALL.

It probably just means she has to kick Guy out her flat or something simple like that...

I thought it meant she dumped the hot date. I didnt think the hot date was Mac or Guy but someone else. Or it might be her telling Martin once and for all to buzz off.

I can't see the writers having Caroline and Mac on a hot date, can you? Their relationship is all sweetness and light. But then, ooh -I wouldn't mind watching that at all.

Possibilities could be: Getting rid of Martin, Leaving Mac to Holly, Leaving Mac to Sue's baby, Putting Alan down, Kicking Guy out, Moving away...

Dumping hot date or putting martin out of his misery.

Guy is said to be green with envy so I cant see it being Mac or these feelings would have happened sooner. Maybe its a new hot man which finally wakes Guy up to his feelings.

Yes but as last weeks episode proved, you cant trust the Episode synopsis' to be 100% accurate.

For example, where was the bit with Martin becoming a sperm donor last week??

Because the Episodes are edited so close to the original transmission date they can 'chop and change' parts on the spur of the moment.
That’s why im not sure we should take everything in the Episode synopsis as gospel - particularly the later episodes in the Series...
