Exactly. Never was a truer word spoken. “Freshers” are supposed to get drunk and do no work! Examiners make allowances for this, trust us! Listen to the elder, more responsible forumites. We only have your best interests at heart. Thumbs Up

I was made responsible for choosing drinks for our private views , I'm sure that counts as adult on some levels...

I haven't been on here for must be nearly a year and I can't believe I still recognise some of the names. Hi there to anyone who still remembers me!
Glad there are still people chatting on here, I'll try to pop along more often.

I don't know its an impossible choice, i'll just have to hope that when I flip the coin it somehow explodes and kills me.

Hi all you oldies who remember me. I hope everybody had a good christmas and new year. I had a great time despite being off the alcohol (I am currently 21 weeks pregnant, hence the long absence from the forums!) Its nice that a few of you have been keeping the forum alive. Hope to chat more soon.

Thanks guys, I have had my 20 week scan jemma but I resisted the temptation to find out what flavour it is! I much prefer the guessing games, How's your little one doing now? I think I can still manage a bit of the old bepanted recorder playing at the mo, I just need some bigger pants!

How exciting! Do you have a preferred flavour?

I’ve been invited to my goddaughter’s first birthday party at the beginning of February. Only trouble is she’s “oop North” and I’m “down sarrf”. Plus, they’ll be lots of babies there and I’m…well err… scared of babies! Blush

I'm scared of babies too – my best friend had one recently and I think she's getting a bit miffed with me because I won't hold him incase I break him!

This is exactly my trouble! When they’re a little older it’s not so bad because they can move around and do interesting things. I find it very hard to get enthusiastic about young babies because they don’t do anything… They just sleep and cry and poop their pants (nappies).

I'd quite like a girl, but I've had a feeling since early on that this one is a boy. I haven't got a problem with the sleepless nights and pooey nappies, I'm just looking forward to meeting my little one.
PS I checked the scan photo and its definitely a baby not a cub.

I'd say if you think it's a boy then it probably is! I agree with the whole not finding out what sex the baby is , it's so lovely to meet your baby and have the surprize.

My little one is very well , she turned 1 last month. She can say a couple of words and took her first dodgy step on boxing day. She hasn't done it since though!
She is quite a handful though, she still wakes at night and head butted my lip this morning , it's all swollen! She is very quick and rewarding to be around but I crave sleep bigtime Roll Eyes

Pooey nappies are no biggy really, the practical things are very easy to get the hang of. Adjusting to your new family life is often the biggest challenge. But you'll be shocked at how capable you are especially on very little sleep!

Ah, but you see I am a rather incapable person so I’m not convinced!

Of course I understand it’s different when you have one of your own. Pooey nappies become something to be proud of (like “ooooh, congratulations, you’ve done your first pooh of the day. Aren’t you a clever girl/boy!”) but I personally can’t get over the fear of commitment; a baby is for life, not just for Christmas and that’s probably what scares me the most!
